Emergency First Aid at Work
Our Emergency First Aid at Work course was designed to comply with the First Aid Industry Body Registration 580 (FAIB) and Quality Care Academy (QCA) accredited body.
Candidates taking this course will be taught core principles and practices of basic First Aid and will undergo training in managing emergency situations until help arrives. We aim to provide the knowledge to handle emergencies at work effectively and confidently.
It’s ideal for small workplaces which present minor risks, and is recommended as a way to maintain the skills of those employees holding a full First Aid at Work certificate.
All successful candidates will receive an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate valid for three years.
Who should attend?
This training course is suitable for anyone nominated as a first-aider in a small business. It is also appropriate for anyone acting as support for a fully qualified First Aid at Work certificate holder.
What will they learn?
Candidates will be taught to confidently and competently deal with various first aid situations in the workplace, as well as given an insight into the relevant regulations.
Pre-requisites
Our courses are designed as a hands-on, practical teaching opportunity ready to be applied to real life situations. Learners must:
- Be physically able to carry out the practical element of the course
- Attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Course content
- Role of the first-aider
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- How to deal with an unconscious casualty
- How to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- How to deal with a choking casualty
- Wounds and bleeding
- Treatment of shock
- Treatment of minor injuries
- Use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Certificate
All Candidates receive an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate valid for 3 years on successful completion of the course.
