First Aid at Work for Theatre and Production

As specialists in the theatre and production industry we understand the unique issues facing your organisation, as such the course includes industry specific elements such as dance injuries, accessing rows of seats, when to cancel a performance and managing other audience members at the scene of an incident.

Who should attend?

First aid courses of this type are suitable for anyone who has been nominated as a First Aider at Work.

What will they learn?

This course will give the successful candidate the knowledge and skills to be qualified as a full First Aider at Work in compliance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. They will be able to competently deal with any first aid situation within the workplace.

Pre-requisites

Our courses offer a practical, hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation. Learners must:

  • be physically able to carry out the practical element of the course
  • attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.

  • Dealing with accidents and illness
  • Treatment of an unconscious patient
  • Burns and scalds
  • Control of bleeding
  • Resuscitation
  • Treatment of shock
  • Fractures
  • Poisoning
  • Systematic approach to evacuation
    • From seat rows
  • Preparing for the arrival of the emergency services

Certificate

All participants will obtain a certificate accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) in First Aid at Work which is valid for 3 years and awarded on successful completion of the course.
