First Aid at Work Refresher

This course covers the requirements of the first aid refresher course to update those who hold a valid in-date first aid at work qualification. Courses will be delivered at your venue and tailored to suit the needs of your business.

Who should attend?

First aid courses of this type are suitable for anyone who has been nominated as a First Aider at Work. To complete this course, candidates must have an in-date approved first aid at work certificate.

What will they learn?

Any industry and legislatorial updates relating to first aid, and a recap on skills and knowledge already learnt under the supervision of a qualified, experienced tutor.

Pre-requisites

Our courses offer a practical, hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation. Learners must:

• be physically able to carry out the practical element of the course
• attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.

Course content

• Minor injuries
• Treatment of an unconscious patient
• Burns and scalds
• Control of bleeding
• Resuscitation
• Treatment of shock
• Fractures
• Poisoning
• Transporting casualties
• Record keeping

Certificate

All participants will obtain a certificate accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) in First Aid at Work which is valid for 3 years and awarded on successful completion of the course.
