Working and Rescue from Height for Theatre and Production

Any staff who use work at height equipment such as harnesses or work positioning / restraint / fall arrest systems should be adequately trained and have their knowledge refreshed at regular intervals. This is a practical course which is delivered on your premises so that the tutor can tailor the training to suit the areas in which your staff work. It also enables candidates to rescue those who are incapacitated and suspended using various equipment (rescue kits). The course content is the same as for the individual Working from Height (Harnesses) and Rescue from Height courses, however candidates are issued with one certificate showing competence in both areas.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for anyone who is nominated to work at height and carry out rescue from height. Candidates are required to bring their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and Fall Protection Equipment (FPE) to the training session.

Course content

Day 1 - Working from Height (Harnesses)

• What is work at height
• Regulations
• Risk assessment
• Hierarchy of control

• Work restraint
• Work positioning
• Fall arrest
• Fall factors

• Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and Fall Protection Equipment (FPE)

• Practical on-site PPE and FPE exercises.

Day 2 - Rescue from Height

• What is rescue from height
• Rescue plans and equipment
• Practical on-site rescue training exercises.

Certificate

Candidates receive an RB Health and Safety Solutions Certificate valid for 3 years on successful completion of the course.
